I am the Head of Newcastle University’s School of Natural and Environmental Sciences. The School was formed in 2017. It brings together long-established research and teaching groups in a number of subjects, including:

• agriculture
• biology
• chemistry
• earth and environmental science
• marine biology

I’ll use the Blog to share news, views and reflections on our School, our University, and Higher Education. I may also comment on technological, scientific and industrial advances.
