As part of the summer refurbishment, we will be creating a simpler shelving sequence in the Robinson Library. Books with shelfmarks between 000 – 599 will be shelved on Level 3, while the 600 – 999 material will be on Level 4.

This week has seen the last ranges of shelving being moved and reconstructed and the 800 books have begun to be moved from Level 3 to Level 4. At present, books shelved between 800 – 824.7 have moved to their new location on Level 4; books at 824.8 – 899 are still in temporary locations on Level 3.

We are also currently moving the books between 300 – 339 to their new locations on Level 3.

As always, if you can’t find the books you need, please ask a member of library staff for help.

This week has seen the move of Fine Art, Architecture, Music Books and Scores from Level 3 to Level 4 in the Robinson Library. This move has allowed us to shelve our collection of music books and scores together for the first time.

As part of the summer refurbishment, we will be making it easier to find books in the library by creating a single (Dewey) sequence of books, with shelfmarks 000-599 being shelved on Level 3 and shelfmarks 600-999 being shelved on Level 4. We have started rearranging the shelving layouts on Levels 3 and 4 to accommodate this and library staff started moving books to their new locations last week.

Books at shelfmarks 700-799 (Fine Art, Architecture, Music, Performing Arts) are currently being moved to their new location on Level 4.

Books at shelfmarks 100-199, 200-299, 340-399 have been moved to a temporary location on Level 4, before being moved to Level 3 when shelving becomes available later in the project. Books at shelfmarks 500-570 are also being moved today.

This is quite a complicated process which involves moving every book in the library. If you need help finding the books you want, please ask a member of library staff.

Our Skype enabled PCs have been moved out of the cafe during the refurbishment and are currently available on Level 1, near the compact shelving. Please ask if you need help in locating a Skype enabled PC.

Skype is also available on our new loanable laptops.
