2017 brought about some major events…. Donald Trump, Brexit, the Rafalution, to name but a few. But it also taught me that the hills of Hadrian’s Wall are a step too far and I decided to retire my hiking boots for now.

So 2018 might be ‘walk free’ but I still aim to help some charities. I have chosen the following 4 local causes:

• Connect25 Foodbank
• Destiny Streetworx (a homeless charity)
• Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter
• The People’s Kitchen
