Online.<\/strong><br>Your undergraduate committee will be meeting with staff to discuss how you\u2019ve found the start of term, and the transition to teaching online. If you have any thoughts or ideas you would like to raise with the committee, please get in touch with your course representative. All rep details can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/elll\/current\/ugresources\/ssc\/#membership\">online<\/a> and will be made available on the NCL app very soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>Buffer\/Enrichment Week<br>w\/c Monday 16<sup>th<\/sup> November 2020. Online.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week has been reserved for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/elll\/newsandevents\/news\/semester1enrichmentweek.html\">enrichment<\/a> activities, which means that you will have no timetabled teaching.&nbsp; Instead, academics, professional services staff and students from the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics (SELLL) have put together, what we hope will be, an interesting and helpful week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The week will include live sessions and drop-ins which we hope you can join.\u00a0 We will also be releasing material throughout the week which you can digest at your own pace and return to later.\u00a0 The Zoom invites and material will be released on your SELLL Induction Course on Canvas.\u00a0 Click on the link above for further information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caf\u00e9 Quiz Night (SELLL Virtual Caf\u00e9)<\/strong><br><strong>Tuesday 17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2020, 4-5pm. We\u2019ve highlighted some of the key contacts, services and processes available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal Tutor<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/elll\/current\/support\/tutors\/\">Your Personal Tutor<\/a> is your first point of contact for any issues you might be having.\u00a0 If you need further help, they can recommend contacting the Senior Tutor or Student Wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Senior Tutors<\/strong><br>The senior tutors act as a second point of contact for you. To access the chat, scroll down and click on the <strong>Contact Us<\/strong> icon on the right side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online chat is available every <strong>Tuesday 10-12<\/strong> and every <strong>Thursday 2-4pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Absence Requests<\/strong><br>If you are going to be absent for <strong>3 consecutive days<\/strong> or more (Monday-Friday), please submit an absence request through <strong>S3P<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal Extenuating Circumstances (PEC)<\/strong><br>If you have difficulties completing your assignments or handing your work in on time because of personal extenuating circumstances, the most important thing you can do is tell the School about any problems you are having. \u00a0Please talk to your personal tutor or the appropriate senior tutor in the first instance.\u00a0\u00a0PEC forms are submitted through S3P, and more information is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/student-progress\/circumstances\/pec\/\">available on our website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Student Support Plans (SSPs)<\/strong><br>If you need any extra help to support your studies, a Student Support Plan (SSP) can be drawn up for you with an advisor from Student Health and Wellbeing.
