I am Dean of Undergraduate Studies in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, responsible for quality assurance, student recruitment and the student experience of over 8,000 students. I am a History graduate and a Chartered Accountant, who only became a lecturer in my 30s after initial training and eight years in arts administration. I have worked at Northumbria and Newcastle Universities and before becoming Dean worked in the Newcastle University Business School as Director of Undegraduate Studies.
