Drawing on his parafictional music project Le Clich\u00e9, he shows how the album can function as a compact research device: music, artist identity, artwork, liner notes, track listings, and related videos become materials through which to think about a whole range of topics such as value, nostalgia, identity, fandom, and the logics of collecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weds 11th March, 3pm &#8211; 5pm, Henry Daysh Building HDB 5.15: Workshop &#8211; Record Covers as Practice-Based Research<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following on from the talk above, participants will take part in a hands-on workshop to design their own vinyl record cover as a practice-based research artefact. Blank record sleeves and glue will be provided. Participants should bring a small set of found objects and images to incorporate, such as packaging, labels, receipts, photographs, coins, hotel \u201cdo not disturb\u201d signs, cassettes, floppy disks, or small electronic components.
