Coll 030 GRE)<\/p><\/div>\n The below extract is taken from Kate Greenaway’s 1890 almanack and describes the seasons through rhyme and accompanying illustrations…<\/p>\n “SPRING<\/em><\/p>\n The lambs are playing, and the day Summer<\/p>\n The sun is warm, but sweetly cool AUTUMN<\/p>\n The corn is cut, and on the bough WINTER<\/em><\/p>\n The cold is keen, for north winds blow,<\/em> Catherine Greenaway (1846\u00a0\u2013 1901), known as Kate Greenaway, was an English\u00a0children\u2019s book<\/a>\u00a0illustrator\u00a0and writer.\u00a0Her\u00a0almanacs ran from 1883 up until 1897, with no 1896 issue being published. Each almanacks included a Jan-Dec calendar, beautifully drawn illustrations and short poems.
