I&#8217;ve got nothing for you.&#8221;Image from Punch Volume 119 &nbsp;(1900) \u2013 \u2018Punch, or the London Charivari\u2019, December 26th 1900<\/p>\n<p>PUNCH, also named&nbsp;The London Charivari was a British weekly <a title=\"Humor magazine\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Humor_magazine\">magazine<\/a> of <a title=\"Humour\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Humour\">humour<\/a> and <a title=\"Satire\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Satire\">satire<\/a> established in 1841 by <a title=\"Henry Mayhew\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Henry_Mayhew\">Henry Mayhew<\/a> and engraver <a title=\"Ebenezer Landells\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ebenezer_Landells\">Ebenezer Landells<\/a>.&nbsp;Historically, it was most influential in the 1840s and 1850s, when it helped to coin the term \u201c<a title=\"Cartoon\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cartoon\">cartoon<\/a>\u201d in its modern sense as a humorous illustration.&nbsp;After the 1940s, when its circulation peaked, it went into a long decline, closing in 1992.
