Come and see us in Cheltenham

We’re at Cheltenham Science Festival all week this week. It is the UK’s biggest science festival so we feel super-proud to have been invited. It’s a long drive from Newcastle, so we don’t expect to see too many of our usual clientèle down there, but if you are planning a visit, please come and say hi.

We will be tweeting througout the week so keep in touch @NUStreetScience or follow our twitter feed via the window on the right >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

We’re going international! Street Science in Bursa, Turkey

The Street Science team have just received their first international assignment and will be travelling, in early May, to Bursa in Turkey. We are very excited to be participating in the Bursa Science Fest 2014.

A team of five will be travelling to Istanbul with our usual bag of tricks on the 1st May, before heading to the city of Bursa on the 2nd May. We really can’t wait and are looking forward to a bit of sunshine to accompany our science.

For more information on the Bursa Science Fest, check out their website.

Join us for Good Vibrations: Science FlashMob Orchestra

Thursday 12th September 2013, from 5pm

On the 12th September at 5pm, the Good Vibrations Science Flashmob comes to Newcastle! We want as many people as possible to come along to join our flashmob orchestra – to create their own instrument whilst learning about the science of sound. Here you can find some example instruments that you could make, or you could try making your own.

Maths Busking

This past weekend our entire team spent two days in training to learn a whole new batch of Maths Busking shows! We can predict your birthday using our magic maths cards, we can turn the queen upside down just by folding paper and we can show you how to make your very own ‘Emergency Pentagon’ – very useful when you need to cut a pizza into five equal slices. We are looking forward to trying these out at our next performance in the City Centre.

When is it? Good question! It’s on Saturday 23rd March – around the Monument.
