{"id":4485,"date":"2020-10-28T15:31:07","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T15:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/?p=4485"},"modified":"2020-10-28T17:23:11","modified_gmt":"2020-10-28T17:23:11","slug":"drama-online-new-film-and-playtexts-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/drama-online-new-film-and-playtexts-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Drama Online: new films and playtexts now available"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"538\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/files\/2020\/10\/NT_Facebook_2-1024x538.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/files\/2020\/10\/NT_Facebook_2-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/files\/2020\/10\/NT_Facebook_2-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/files\/2020\/10\/NT_Facebook_2-768x403.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/files\/2020\/10\/NT_Facebook_2.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Library has recently added several new collections to its <em>Drama Online<\/em> portfolio. <em>Drama Online<\/em> provides access to over 2,300 playtexts and books, and we have now bought access to the following film collections, featuring leading actors such as Gillian Anderson, Simon Russell Beale, Adrian Lester, Mark Rylance, Stephen Fry, Tamsin Greig, Roger Allam and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/libsearch.ncl.ac.uk\/permalink\/f\/1jraif3\/NCL_ALMA61174271920002411\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Globe on Screen 1<\/a>: 21 plays recorded live on the Globe stage in London.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/libsearch.ncl.ac.uk\/permalink\/f\/1jraif3\/NCL_ALMA61174241740002411\" target=\"_blank\">National Theatre Collection<\/a>: thirty filmed performances of National Theatre productions.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/libsearch.ncl.ac.uk\/permalink\/f\/1jraif3\/NCL_ALMA61174241740002411\" target=\"_blank\">Royal Shakespeare Company Live Collection 1<\/a>: 17 filmed performances of RSC productions.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, we have also bought the <strong>2020 <\/strong>updates of the Core Collection and Nick Hern Books, adding another <strong>90 playtexts<\/strong> to our collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the films and playtexts are individually catalogued and searchable via&nbsp;<strong>Library Search<\/strong>,&nbsp;or you can search\/browse them all in various ways on the&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/libsearch.ncl.ac.uk\/permalink\/f\/1jraif3\/NCL_ALMA61112625730002411\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Drama Online<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/subject-support\/files\/2018\/11\/dosearch.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is dosearch.png\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, using the options at the top of the screen, you can browse by title, author, genre and time period, or if you click&nbsp;<strong>Find Plays<\/strong>&nbsp;on the home page, you can add in other search filters, such as number of roles or scenes.
