NCCO\u00a0unites multiple, distinct archives into a single resource of over one hundred types of primary source documents; it consists of monographs, newspapers, pamphlets, manuscripts, ephemera, maps, photographs, statistics, and other kinds of documents in both Western and non-Western languages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NCCO platform comprises 12 thematic collections, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Asia and the West: Diplomacy and Cultural Exchange<\/li><li>British Politics and Society <\/li><li>British Theatre, Music, and Literature: High and Popular Culture<\/li><li>Children&#8217;s Literature and Childhood<\/li><li><em>\u00a0<\/em>European Literature, the Corvey Collection, 1790\u20131840\u00a0<\/li><li>Europe and Africa, Colonialism and Culture<\/li><li>Maps and Travel Literature\u00a0<\/li><li>Photography <\/li><li>Religion, Reform, and Society\u00a0<\/li><li>Science, Technology, and Medicine, Part I\u00a0<\/li><li>Science, Technology, and Medicine, Part II<\/li><li>Women and Transnational Networks\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The following video provides more information on one of the collections, as an example: British Politics and Society. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Nineteenth Century Collections Online: British Politics and Society\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F1QrJIUflBY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/link.gale.com\/apps\/NCCO?u=new_itw\">Newcastle University staff and students may login to the platform here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trial is live until <strong>Thursday 29th February 2024<\/strong>.
