Reflections on a week in Sao Paulo

One thing that definitely does not change with culture is the ´Friday feeling´!

Upon entering the office ´Rebecca Black: It´s Friday Friday´ was being played!  A ritual that apparently happens every Friday!  But work does still continue and Friday, my final day at work, was definitely the busiest!

Fernanda, the Senior Director of Linhas Comunicacao, left for London on Tuesday night.  Before she left, I had a meeting with her to discuss the project for the Planet Earth Institute I would work on during my time here.

An update from Linhas Comunicacao, Sao Paulo!

I can´t believe how quickly the week has done!  I am just about to start my last day at Linhas Comunicacao on my trip sponsored by Newcastle University Business School.

My colleagues have been the perfect city guides throughout my stay and have made a real effort to educate me about life in Brazil.  One of the graduates at the company, Juliana, has been keen to practice her English and I had dinner with her and her university friends on the first two evenings.  I very much enjoyed this as I learnt more about university life in Sao Paulo too!

Busy Busy at Sao Paulo PR company! …

After coming 4th in the Rio 20+ competition, and thanks to generous sonsorship from the Newcastle University Business School, I am in Sao Paulo getting ready to start day three of work experience at Linhas Comunicacao PR company.

I am writting my blog over breakfast at my hotel with many business travelers sitting around me doing work and reading newspapers over breakfast.  This is a great insight into life as an international business professional – and I am enjoying it!

Getting ready for work experience in Sao Paulo!

It has been just over three months since I found out that due to my involvement in the Rio+20 debates I will be traveling to Sao Paulo to spend a week at Brazil’s leading PR firm, Linhas Comunicação.  This is possible thanks to generous support from Newcastle Business School.
