The SESC aims to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gather feedback<\/strong> to take to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/executive\/assets\/environment-and-sustainability-committee\/\">University\u2019s Sustainability Committee (SC)<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Understand<\/strong> student priorities regarding sustainability. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The SESC is chaired by the <a href=\"https:\/\/nusu.co.uk\/student-voice\/education\/sustainability#:~:text=Environment%20%26%20Ethics%20Rep&amp;text=Helping%20NUSU%20achieve%20these%20values,individual%20roles%20as%20global%20citizens.\">Ethics and Environment Rep<\/a> and is attended by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Environment &amp; Sustainability (E&amp;S) Reps<\/strong> from all academic schools &#8211; this position is open to anyone, just ask about the position at your school at the start of each academic year!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainability concerned <strong>society committee members<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Any interested students <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br><br><strong>How to get involved<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested in learning more about sustainability at our university? There are a variety of ways for students and colleagues to engage with climate action here at Newcastle University, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainable-campus\/play-your-part\/\">Sustainability Network<\/a> for monthly updates on our projects and the sustainability work of other teams throughout the University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Colleagues) Joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainable-campus\/play-your-part\/colleague-action\/#TEVBRg==\">Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework<\/a> to improve, and gain recognition for, the sustainability of your lab(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Getting involved with the NUSU&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainable-campus\/play-your-part\/student-action\/#U29jaWV0aWVzJTIwYW5kJTIwdm9sdW50ZWVyaW5n\">variety of environmentally focused societies<\/a> and volunteering opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Colleagues) Joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainable-campus\/themes\/waste-and-recycling\/#UmV1c2U=\">Furniture Reuse mailing list<\/a> to browse and share furniture from throughout the University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keeping an eye on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainable-campus\/events\/\">Events Page<\/a> for upcoming sessions, including our free biweekly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainable-campus\/events\/event-items\/dr-bike\/\">Dr Bike<\/a> sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Joining the Bicycle Users Group (BUG) to get involved with a community of cyclists, share advice, and receive updates from us about everything cycling at Newcastle University.
