Could a digital version of the document&nbsp;serve the same purpose?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Print better<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes printing is necessary.&nbsp;When there is a need to print, there are steps we can take to be more sustainable and&nbsp;efficient.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Print double-sided&nbsp;to reduce paper usage&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose black and white instead of colour&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Print multiple slides per page for lecture notes&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Always preview documents before printing to avoid&nbsp;reprints&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recycle!<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When printing&nbsp;can\u2019t&nbsp;be avoided,&nbsp;it\u2019s&nbsp;important&nbsp;that all paper waste is correctly disposed of in one of&nbsp;our&nbsp;designated paper recycling bins&nbsp;(blue bin).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"496\" height=\"260\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainability\/files\/2026\/04\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1605\" style=\"width:488px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainability\/files\/2026\/04\/image-1.png 496w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/sustainability\/files\/2026\/04\/image-1-300x157.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 496px) 100vw, 496px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>If clean, you can recycle all types of paper in the paper recycling bins, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>any white or coloured paper<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>shredded paper<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>photocopier and computer paper<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>leaflets, magazines, journals,&nbsp;newspapers&nbsp;and catalogues<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>envelopes,\u202f<\/strong>including those with brown paper and\/ or windows&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>thin card<\/strong>\u202fsuch as cereal packaging and microwave meal sleeves&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Books<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please do not put&nbsp;paper&nbsp;<strong>coffee&nbsp;cups,&nbsp;waxed&nbsp;paper&nbsp;or&nbsp;sandwich wrappers&nbsp;<\/strong>in the paper bins.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you for reading this blog.
