Experimental Testing
- Experimental testing of a 3.9 m span arch subjected to hinge control by Gabriel Stockdale. By controlling the hinge locations we are able to increase the resistance of the arch while also providing a defined failure mechanism. More info can be found here.
Presentations 2018
- The MRG group presented 4 research papers at the 10th International Masonry Conference (10thIMC). The conference was co-organized by the Politecnico di Milano (Technical University of Milan), Italy, and took place on the 9 to 11 July 2018, and the International Masonry Society (IMS).
- The MRG presented two original research papers at the 16th European Conference on Earthquake Engineering (16ECEE), held in Thessaloniki, Greece between 18-21, June, 2018. You can find the papers here and here.
- A paper on the stability analysis of geometrically complex leaning structures as the one of Caerphilly Tower in Wales has been presented at the 11th International Conference on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions (SAHC 2018) in Cusco, Perú.
