We do this by providing support and guidance to help staff:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>communicate the goals of their site<\/li>\n<li>identify the needs of their users<\/li>\n<li>create and maintain high-quality, relevant web content<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our team covers a variety of roles including design, development, project management, liaison, copy writing and editing, and training. His role includes directing strategy, monitoring performance, liaising with a multitude of stakeholders, promoting the importance of UX and occasionally getting the drinks in. He\u2019s also been known to moonlight as a pantomime dame in his youth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Linda.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-246\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Linda.jpg\" alt=\"Linda\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/author\/nlj10\/\">Linda Jameson<\/a>, Web Production Manager<\/p>\n<p>As manager of the Web Content Officers in the team, Linda makes sure that content meets the standards set in the University\u2019s style guides. She also trains University web editors in writing for the web, project manages site developments and runs user testing sessions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Jane.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-224\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Jane.jpg\" alt=\"Jane\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/author\/njc53\/\">Jane McFadyen<\/a>,\u00a0Web Production Manager<\/p>\n<p>Jane project manages site developments for clients and provides training and advice on writing for web\/mobile for our web editors. With expertise in structuring information architecture and creating content strategy, she is passionate about usability and is involved with user testing whenever possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Catherine1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-254\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Catherine1.jpg\" alt=\"Catherine\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Catherine McDonald, \u00a0Go Mobile Technical Team\u00a0Leader<\/p>\n<p>Catherine leads the technical work involved in the Go Mobile programme. This includes designing and building new mobile responsive components in T4 and improving existing ones. The technical team works closely with colleagues in NUIT relating to systems which feed information into T4. Catherine loves to get lost in HTML and SCSS.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Steve.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-226\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Steve.jpg\" alt=\"Steve\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/strong>Steve Curry, Faculty Web Manager (SAgE)<\/p>\n<p>As Web Manager for the Faculty of Science, Agriculture &amp; Engineering (SAgE), Steve is responsible for providing web development and editorial support to Schools, Research Institutes and Centres in the Faculty. Steve also supports the SAgE Faculty Marketing and Recruitment team.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Peter.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-247\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Peter.jpg\" alt=\"Peter\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Peter Chau, Assistant Web Analyst<\/p>\n<p>Peter provides development and technical support on the web publication systems and technology used by the University and works closely with our colleagues in NUIT. He also provides advice and support on web analytics, helping our clients determine the effectiveness of their website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Anne.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-227\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/Anne.jpg\" alt=\"Anne\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/author\/nam1\/\">Anne Murphy<\/a>, Web Training &amp; Support Officer<\/p>\n<p>Anne provides training in the use of web publishing and quality assurance software to our content editors . She\u2019s also the team\u2019s first point of contact for all support and training requests.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/EmmaC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-244\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/files\/2015\/02\/EmmaC.jpg\" alt=\"Emma\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/author\/nekc2\/\">Emma Cragg<\/a>, Web Content Officer<\/p>\n<p>Emma plans, writes and edits content for the central website. \u00a0She helps to maintain the University&#8217;s content style guides and is responsible for development of the team&#8217;s website and this blog. Passionate about creating high quality web content, she helps to maintain the University\u2019s content style guides and provides advice to our web editors.
