{"id":1308,"date":"2015-11-25T15:00:19","date_gmt":"2015-11-25T15:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/?p=1308"},"modified":"2015-11-24T15:27:38","modified_gmt":"2015-11-24T15:27:38","slug":"team-update-12-25-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/2015\/11\/25\/team-update-12-25-november\/","title":{"rendered":"Team update: 12 \u2013 25 November"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Go Mobile programme<\/h2>\n<p>Planning for phase 2 of Go Mobile is underway.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re recruiting for some new staff in the new year and planning an office move: this is all to help us complete the Go Mobile Programme.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a lot to sort out so we\u2019re getting ahead where we can.<\/p>\n<p>There has been planning of sitemaps and requirements for the Alumni, Giving, International, Careers Service and Accommodation sites.<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate (UG) work continues. The majority of pages are nearing completion. We\u2019re entering a period of proofing and checking.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa has been finalising audits for the Business School and Careers websites, which will be going through the Go Mobile process early next year.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/digitalinstitute\/\">Digital Institute<\/a> site is now live!<\/p>\n<h2>Design and Technical developments<\/h2>\n<p>The tech team are ironing out some snags which arose during the development of the Phase 1 sites.<\/p>\n<p>Catherine is working on documentation to outline some of the processes involved in importing and setting up new sites in T4.<\/p>\n<p>Peter has been developing changes to the T4 UG template so we can export editable PDFs of content. This means that our outsourced proofing can all be handled online. As we work towards the deadline for go live, there have been technical changes to some of the UG specific T4 content types.<\/p>\n<p>Andy has been collating the Phase 2 set of virtual tours to be converted for use on mobile devices. 28 additional tours have been identified and are in the process of being procured. There will also be updates to the virtual tour website.<\/p>\n<h2>Training and support<\/h2>\n<p>Interest in our training is increasing \u2013 sessions pre-Christmas are fully booked. We\u2019ve a Planning and Writing Web Content sessions on the 26 November. Our new Media training is also going down well \u2013 we\u2019ve two more sessions in December.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re now planning for training in phase 2 of Go Mobile and have sessions booked for the first two batches in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve received 35 support requests through the <a href=\"https:\/\/nuservice.ncl.ac.uk\/\">NU Service Helpdesk<\/a> and have resolved 20 of them.<\/p>\n<h3>Nielsen Norman Group UX Certification<\/h3>\n<p>Jane has<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nngroup.com\/ux-certification\"> successfully passed her exams for the Content Strategy<\/a> (days 1 and 2) course run by Nielsen Norman. Well done Jane!<\/p>\n<h2>Campaigns and web developments<\/h2>\n<p>Emma C is on a roller coaster of love and hate with Google Analytics. She\u2019s developing a model to help set objectives and measure the success of specific areas of the site.<\/p>\n<p>Jane has been helping the Press Office get ready to promote some televised debates, due for broadcast on Channel NewsAsia in December.<\/p>\n<p>We added some pages to the Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering website to promote our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sage\/study\/postgrad\/dta\/\">2016 Doctoral Training Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Plans for the next few weeks<\/h2>\n<p>Lisa is writing this month\u2019s newsletter for the blog.<\/p>\n<p>Anne\u2019s working on a Contribute webinar for staff at NUMed.<\/p>\n<p>We are providing support for the next Research Impact campaign in the run up to the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Go Mobile programme Planning for phase 2 of Go Mobile is underway.
