{"id":481,"date":"2015-04-14T16:56:22","date_gmt":"2015-04-14T15:56:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/?p=481"},"modified":"2015-04-19T09:25:10","modified_gmt":"2015-04-19T08:25:10","slug":"team-update-1-15-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/web\/2015\/04\/14\/team-update-1-15-april\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Update: 1 \u2013 15 April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- [if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s time for a\u00a0<strong>team update<\/strong> about what we\u2019ve been working on over the last two weeks and what\u2019s coming up.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Go Mobile programme<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tagging<\/strong> sites ready for migration \u2013 <strong>\u00a0batch one<\/strong>, including Research, Law School, Press Office, Institute for Sustainability is <strong>complete<\/strong>. And <strong>batch two<\/strong> is <strong>nearing completion<\/strong> for; Open Day, Information for Schools and Colleges, and last but not least About<\/li>\n<li>A lot of detailed <strong>planning<\/strong> of the steps in the migration process itself and <strong>scoping out<\/strong> potential <strong>go-live dates<\/strong> for the first batches of sites<\/li>\n<li><strong>Calculating<\/strong> the <strong>time taken<\/strong> for each task to give us an accurate picture of the resources involved in the programme overall<\/li>\n<li>Updating our giant whiteboard, on which we are <strong>tracking our progress<\/strong> in migrating batches one and two<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Technical developments<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The tech team (Catherine, Pete, Andy and Paul) have been <strong>moving<\/strong> the final\u00a0<strong>template<\/strong> and <strong>components<\/strong> to its permanent home on the live server<\/li>\n<li>They\u2019ve also been making <strong>final preparations<\/strong> for the <strong>migration of the PG<\/strong> site <strong>into T4<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>We have also been <strong>getting ready to migrate<\/strong> <strong>batch one<\/strong> (four sites) <strong>into T4<\/strong> and looking at the individual template requirements of each site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Training and support<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The editorial team have been <strong>finalising training<\/strong> materials for the new Go Mobile programme<\/li>\n<li>Anne is still working on training for the T4 CMS<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019ve received <strong>24 support requests<\/strong> through the <a href=\"http:\/\/nuservice.ncl.ac.uk\/\">NU Service Helpdesk<\/a> and have <strong>resolved 7<\/strong> of them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Campaigns and web developments<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s still a lot of business as usual!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emma C has been working with colleagues in Marketing and Student Recruitment to plan <b>homepage<\/b> messages for the next few months<\/li>\n<li>Steve has developed some external <b>research<\/b> pages on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/sage\/research\/\">Sage Faculty website<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Emma C attended a demo of the remote <b>user testing<\/b> platform <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whatusersdo.com\">What Users Do<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Jane has been reviewing some <b>videos<\/b> of external user testing of the PG website, and also writing a blog post about how much we hate FAQs (it&#8217;s true)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Travel-tastic<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We enjoyed some time off for the Easter bank holidays &#8211; some team members travelled as far afield as Copenhagen, America, London and even good old Yorkshire<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Plans for the next few weeks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Refining <b>layout\/design<\/b> options for sites in <b>Go Mobile<\/b><\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ll be carrying out post-migration checks on the first batch of sites in T4<\/li>\n<li>Our editorial team are meeting to plan future content for this blog \u2013 let us know in the comments if there\u2019s any topics you want us to cover<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See you next time!<!-- [if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s time for a\u00a0team update about what we\u2019ve been working on over the last two weeks and what\u2019s coming up.
