The Applied Linguistics & Communication section are delighted to announce the appointment of three new members of staff, set to join us some time in the autumn.
Dr Spencer Hazel will be joining us as Senior Lecturer, leaving his current post as Research Fellow & Consultant at the University of Nottingham. Dr Hazel will complement the section’s existing expertise in social interaction, having in recent years established himself as a leading figure in interaction analysis research, particularly in international and multilingual settings.
Dr Hatice Müge Satar Coen will be appointed as Lecturer. Dr Satar is currently working at Boğaziçi University in Turkey, and will be bringing a wide range of expertise to our section, not least in contributing to our work on technology for language learning with her interest in online multimodal communication.
Dr Elaine Lopez will be coming from University of Leeds to join us as Teaching Fellow. Dr Lopez is currently the course director for the MA TESOL For Young Learners at Leeds, has a wide range of TESOL experience and expertise, and her research interests are in the area of Second Language Acquisition.
Further details will be shared towards the end of summer. We can’t wait to welcome the new trio to the team!
