The wonderful world of T-cells

Welcome to the world of T cells!

The immune system consists of  innate and  adaptive immune cells. The adaptive immune system is important for maintaining long-term immune responses to pathogens and comprise of T cells and B cells.

T cells or T lymphocytes are essential for immunity in humans. Lack of T cells or specific T cell lineage determining factors can cause life threatening complications such as the “bubble boy disease”, IPEX syndrome etc.

In addition to maintaining immune homeostasis, T cells possess fabulous therapeutic potential for the treatment of refractory cancers, autoimmunity and viral diseases. T cell engineering and targeting T cell receptors has resulted in paradigm shifting therapeutic strategies for both liquid and solid tumours.

We hope our blog will provide an upto date information on what’s happening in the world of T cell biology and therapy!
