Google Maps-Learning Walks:

Changedetection.com:

Not an app per se but a notification system for webpages. Simply paste the URL you want it to monitor and it will email you whenever there is a change on that page…try it for yourself at www.changedetection.com

Side by Side:

Write or Die:

Hola/Tunnel Bear:

These apps create Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) on your device enabling you to overcome location restrictions that some websites place on their content.

FieldtripGB:

Fieldtrip GB is a mobile mapping and data collection app that is available for iPhone and Android devices.  It has been developed by EDINA, based at The University of Edinburgh, with support from Jisc.  It will allow students, lecturers and researchers to collect data  against high quality cartographic maps.  The main features of the app are:

  • Free to download and use
  • High quality background maps that offer rich data in both urban and rural environments
  • Map caching to allow off-network usage
  • Data capture
  • Custom data collection forms that allow users to define the data they want to capture.

Displaynote:

DisplayNote transforms presentations for presenters and participants. Use it to present wirelessly with an iPad or Android and mirror your screen to every participant’s device. Attendees can view and capture your slides on their device and collaborate with each other in real-time.

Office Mix:

A very simple way of creating and sharing interactive online videos using Microsoft PowerPoint. https://mix.office.com/ 

Responseware:

PollEverywhere:

This is a free, quick easy-to-use piece of polling software allowing presenters to pose questions to their audience and quickly gather responses. https://www.polleverywhere.com/
