The Congenital Heart Disease Research Group is a Clinical-Academic Group previously formed within Newcastle University Cardiovascular Research Centre and now sitting within the Reproduction, Development and Child Health Theme at Newcastle University. The theme cross cuts the Biosciences, Translational and Clinical Research and Population Health Sciences Institutes in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Our group, alongside those from the Vascular Biology Medicine (VBM) Theme are part of Cardiovascular Research at Newcastle University.
We represent a wide range of research interests from laboratory based developmental biology, to clinically applied research and epidemiology in both adult and paediatric congenital heart disease. We are physically located at the Medical School, the International Centre for LIfe and The Freeman Hospital. We are integrated with the newly formed North East and North Cumbria Congenital Heart Disease Operational Delivery Network.
