Company Description:

OnlineFuels UK is a fast-growing energy trading platform that was launched in 2016, currently specialising in the sale of refined bulk fuels. Recently shortlisted for ‘Tech Company of the Year’ and ‘Reseller of the Year’ in the National Technology Awards 2019.

The founder, James Stairmand, worked in the Oil industry for 8 years after graduating from Newcastle University. Despite how big the Oil Industry is, he experienced first-hand how old fashioned their processes are. For example, fuel prices are sent over emails and faxes (yes, they still exist!!). James saw an opportunity for technology to be applied in an industry that was ready for (and desperately in need of) change. The first of its kind, OnlineFuels has created a dynamic, live online marketplace where buyers of a variety of fuels can log on and see their buying options without having to call all of their suppliers. Likewise, sellers can promote product options in one place, benefiting from both time and efficiency. Nothing like this exists in the market, and it is considered a very disruptive technology within an old-fashioned market place.

Gaining international interest, we have recently announced that we will be moving into Germany, as part of joint venture with one of the largest energy companies in the world, Shell. We’re also launching a major new product into the UK so it’s an extremely exciting time to join! There is plenty to get on with here at OnlineFuels, and this is apparent in the way we have recruited. In the last 8 months, we have quadrupled in size, with more opportunities to come. As a startup in the heart of London, it’s a great place to be, with a young, fun and motivated team.

Our Employees say:

Operations Manager, George Copeland says:

“OnlineFuels is an exciting and flexible technology company that is at the forefront of innovation and change within the oil industry. Having previously worked for large organisations, I chose to join OnlineFuels to gain exposure to how a business operates across all departments. You will get to work closely across the business with extremely talented people, like the CEO and Founder, James. If you are interested in working for a startup or starting your own business in the future, this experience would be invaluable and the networking opportunities in London are huge.”

Jonathan Sunarja, Junior Developer Intern:

“I can say that I have never looked back at my decision to join OnlineFuels. Working in a startup that aims to revolutionise a massive industry by means of technology has given me an exciting experience to learn a full web development cycle under an ever-growing agile culture. I have been constantly handed significant tasks that allow me to explore and understand both frontend and backend, with room to play with my own creativity. Also, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other aspects of the business, which would enrich your insights, and to be able to do so in central London is definitely too good to miss.”

How To Apply:

Please apply by sending a CV and Covering Letter to careers@onlinefuels.com. The process will include Skype interviews, followed quickly by face to face interview for final decision.
