JobsOC: Code Writer
Role details and responsibilities: This role is a collaboration between Dental Sciences and Computing to develop open-source code that can then be embedded in several websites to help calculate the answers to three short questionnaires all using categorical or dichotomous single selection answers that a patient anonymously completes online. The successful candidate will need to develop and test the code and demonstrate it works successfully and then the wider supervisory team will issue it to participating websites for them to embed it and display the online calculators.
Dates and times: 15/01/2024 – 21/01/2024 (20 hours in total).
The working dates and times within this period are flexible. The successful student will be expected to complete 20 hours of work during the week
Skills required: To be eligible to apply you must be a registered Newcastle University student throughout the 2023/24 academic year.

• Previous experience of using HTML and Javascript code
• Time management

Hourly rate of pay: £13.76
