Role overview: As a Front-End Developer Intern, you will collaborate with our product and backend teams to develop and enhance the user interface for Echo3.cloud. You will be responsible for implementing responsive, user-friendly designs using Material-UI and React, connecting these interfaces to our AWS-powered backend services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a start-up from Minimum Viable Product stage through to product launch in March next year. You will learn and grow in a supportive, fast-paced environment while contributing to a high-impact product. PDL is also home to our Analysis Expertise centre for all UK operations. We are a mechanical and software engineering consultancy with ~40 expert engineers.

The Opportunity:
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain experience in developing and applying cutting edge engineering software on some of the most technically demanding projects at many ‘blue chip’ European and US companies. We are looking for candidates that have ambition, imagination and skill in equal measure and will offer an exciting and varied career in a supportive but dynamic environment in exchange.

All graduate engineers will be enrolled on to the IET Membership and supported during the
professional development process, through which they will typically achieve CEng status within 4-5 years of graduation.
Candidates should be able to apply their skills across a wide range of problems and technologies in a fast-moving environment and have the ability to comprehend fundamental software engineering principles, but extensive software development experience isn’t essential – we’ll help you develop as far as your ambition will take you.

Office Location:
The PDL office is based in Hexham, Northumberland, which has easy road access via the A69 and either A1 (from Newcastle) or M6 (from Carlisle) with free onsite car parking. There is a rail link via Newcastle/Carlisle line, the office being a 10-minute walk from the railway station and there are regular buses along the A695 and A69, with the bus station a 10-minute walk away from the Hexham office.
