Student requirements: These internships are open to all Newcastle University students, although would be most suited to Agriculture, Biology and Environmental students.

Dates and times: The internships are each expected to be for a total of 60 hours, working approximately one 7-hour day per week between October 2024 and January 2025.

Role overview: The interns will be processing and analysing soil and plant tissue samples in the laboratory, working with and reporting to PhD student, Sonia Lee and supervisor, Dr Elisa Lopez-Capel. Role overview: This is an exciting opportunity to work on ongoing projects on global agrifood supply chains at Newcastle University. The study aims to evaluate societal perspectives on agrifood innovations. The research assistants will be analysing survey data on multiple countries. The datasets have already been collected and your role will be to undertake literature reviews and synthesis and preliminary analysis of the quantitative data. Excellent writing ability is required for this role. Ability to use software such as STATA or R is desirable. You will work with the project lead, Dr Albert Boaitey.

Student requirements: The internship is open to Newcastle University students postgraduate research students from any discipline.

Role overview: This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work with our Academic Skills Team based in the Philip Robinson Library. In this role, the intern will primarily be working with undergraduate and postgraduate taught students on a one-to-one basis, provide guidance and advice on all aspects of academic writing and study skills. These may include assessment literacy, the process of academic writing, application of critical analysis and approaching independent study.

Role overview: We have code written in SQL that is archaic and no longer supports or has problems with communication with modern cashless systems. In addition we have ticketing opportunities from remote kiosks that is required for Theatre, additional services including lounge ticketing and our current fast track systems. In addition Website upgrade/development is required.

Essentially we require software upgrades to maintain our service, presence and growth and where necessary a re-write of our service provision that will take us through the next 10 years of development taking into account Windows base platforms are used. We have a technical specification drawn up to work from.

Dates and times: The internships are each expected to be for a total of 100 hours, working approximately 3-4 hours per week between September 2024 and May 2025.  You would be expected to work approximately 15 weeks in term 1, 9 weeks in term 2 and 2 weeks in term 3.Interns be available on a Wednesday afternoon/early evening.
