Our aim is to create a robust and easy to use reporting system for all our calibration certificates that the Lab issues. Because the calibrations we provide are very bespoke, there is no software out there that can be adapted for our use. We would like also for this reporting programme to be accessible through an app where our customers can download and comment where necessary.

To help translate ideas and concepts into visual representations, which can then be used for customer demonstrations. To take wireframe designs and mock-ups and design a basic Minimum Viable Product using frontend HTML pages and, depending on individual ability, backend C#/.net/MVC functionality.

Duration: The internships are each expected to be for a total of 100 hours, working approximately 10 hours per week between December 2023 and March 2024. Working days and times are flexible.

The main task is to develop a demonstration of the F1TENTH ( https://f1tenth.org/ ) autonomous racing cars suitable for University Open Days and Offer Holder Days. This involves commissioning hardware, track, and software elements. A key element is to prepare materials that allow other colleagues and student ambassadors to explain to visitors and guests what is happening in the demonstration.

AI Annotator for Ecological Data – Newcastle University

Closing date: 06/11/2023

Duration: This internship is expected to be for a total of 60 hours, working up to 20 hours per week between November and December. Working days and times are flexible.

Bursary/wage: £13.44 per hour

In this role you will be trained in image annotations for ecological applications and gain an overview of the process for creating AI models such as object segmentation and object recognition using YOLO models. Your job will be to help annotate photos of various hedgerows for stems, scale bars, and canopy using the simple online annotation tool Roboflow ( https://roboflow.com/annotate )
