DriveWorks Ltd is a UK based software company with global sales. More than 2 million product designers and engineers worldwide use SolidWorks 3D Design Software and DriveWorks software products. What about the job?

You will be given the responsibility of working on the same projects as our other developers, working on the current and future releases of our software products. In addition to this, you will:

  • Grow your existing development skills and gain new ones.
  • Be exposed to a range of new technologies/frameworks.
  • Get the chance to use the latest devices for development and testing.
  • Receive a salary of £15,000 pa.
  • Become a key player in a dynamic team!We are committed to developing our people and having fun! You will greatly enhance your programming skills and will be working at the forefront of technology whilst gaining invaluable insight into the software development process. We are big believers in keeping up with all the latest technologies. As a result of this we have regular 20% time where all developers can work on their own projects.

    Our Company culture is open and fun, but intense. You will need to be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

    Most of our students aren’t from the North West. Because of this we can often assist with finding accomodation for the successful candidate.

    Students who excel during their placement year are likely to be invited to join our Graduate Training Programme. This is an 18 month programme, designed to attract high potential candidates with a passion and aptitude for programming who want to further develop technical and business skills.

    What are we looking for?

    A reliable, resourceful, good problem solver. We are looking for people who pay attention to detail and will work to finish a task.
    You should be studying a software development/computer science degree and possess the following:

    •  .NET (C#, VB) knowledge.
    • Java knowledge would be advantageous.
    • A proven interest in software development outside of university is desirable.How do you apply?

Placement: Game Developer, Feral Interactive

Feral Interactive, a leading developer and publisher of AAA games for Mac and Linux, is offering year-long industrial placements to university students currently studying Computer Science or a related degree.

Our game developer placements involve working on real game code: you’ll be porting top PC and console releases to Mac, Linux or mobile platforms. You’ll also help to develop our in-house tools and support the overall development process.

You’ll be working on the same projects as our graduate developers, and will work directly with them and our experienced programmers, gaining valuable experience in games development. This includes getting familiar with the development cycle, bug tracking and working with a QA team.

We like to see students who’ve gone beyond the requirements of their course: we’re happy to look at examples of your own projects and code, so feel free to include them with your application.

NATS 2017 Early Career opportunities are now open for applications! This year we have 10 Industrial Placement opportunities and 2 Direct Entry Graduate opportunity available to students.

Direct Entry Graduates 

Our Graduate position is available to students coming to the end of their degree. The placement will be within our Engineering and Project Management department and students will join our two-year, graduate programme, which provides a clear route for progression and development, via a mix of on-the-job training and classroom tuition.
