“Network” looks at the ways in which trees communicate underground through a vast fungal network. An artistic, immersive VR experience, it allows the player to inhabit an entirely different perspective, one which explores the interconnectedness of nature, the universe, and of us.
The project is funded via the StoryFutures Academy, and will end up as a playable experience in the Playstore, and be sent to VR and animation festivals around the world. The team consists of recent NFTS graduates, who are all working on a volunteer basis, so as to see as much of the budget in the game, and to pay our collaborators.
We are currently looking for a Unity VR Developer and a Unity VFX Artist (or someone who can do both) to board the project.
Both are at-home-positions, and would require own home set-ups. Experience is required.
Unity VR Developer:
The Unity VR Developer will be expected to take lead on the development and coding of the prototype, beta and alpha version of the game. This will be done, with the aid of our two Game Designers, Guy Sargent and Kamal Shaddad, who will be overseeing the process and help the developer with the build, a few hours a week.
Contract term: From start May-late July, with the delivery of a prototype by end of May and the final product by end of July. Hours can be flexible and part-time.
Fee: Flat fee of £4.000 with a bit of room for negotiation.
Unity VFX Artist
The Unity VFX Artist needs to be skilled in particle effects, have an understanding of dynamics, and be able to work within Unity. This will be done, with the aid of our two Game Designers, Guy Sargent and Kamal Shaddad, and our Art Director Leto Meade, who will be part of creating the environment of the game and help see it through to implementation.
Contract term: From late May-late July. Hours can be flexible and part-time.
Fee: Flat fee of £3.000 with a bit of room for negotiation.
If we were to find someone to do both, we’d of course be happy to negotiate a decent fee covering both.
We hope we have caught your interest.
