Our Research

The Young Lab are based in the Skeletal Research Group, Biosciences Institute, Newcastle University at the Centre for Life.

The aim of the groups’ research is to characterise the molecular changes that occur during osteoarthritis, to find potential therapeutic targets.  We use the latest techniques to understand gene regulatory events that occur in cartilage. Our main area of research involves understanding how non-coding RNA, especially microRNAs, control chondrocyte development and homeostasis.

We are always happy to try to help interested scientists find funding to join the group.
