Have Your Say – Ridley 2 Teaching Rooms & Baddiley-Clark 1.65 Refurbishments Consultation

The suite of Ridley 2 Level 1 teaching rooms will be refurbished over the 2022 summer period ready for teaching in September for the new academic year 2022/23. Baddiley-Clark 1.65 will also be refurbished and reinstated as a common user flat-floor teaching space.

30/11/21 – We’re back!

After a pause in projects due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Estates & Facilities are back on track with our Teaching & Learning Refurbishments for the academic year 2021/22. Keep checking this page for opportunities to have your say, information about upcoming projects and progress updates.

23/09/19 – Cassie 2.33 Completion

Cassie Building room 2.33 is complete and back in use. Unfortunately, due to a delay with the seating manufacturer, the completion of room 2.32 has been delayed one week and induction activities scheudled to take place in the room have been relocated.

23/09/19 – Herschel Building Completion

The Herschel Building lecture theatres and Curtis Auditorium were completed at the weekend and are back in use. A feedback form will be circulated in due course.

20th September 2019

20/09/19 – Final Touches in the Herschel Building

The three lecture theatres and Curtis Auditroium are almost complete with the final AV commissioning taking place on Saturday 21st September ready for induction activity to commence on Monday 23rd September.

11/09/19 – Seating Installation in Herschel Building

Seating in Lecture Theatre 1 is almost complete and the framework has been installed in Lecture Theatre’s 2 and 3. All three rooms will be fully furnished by the end of the week with the installation continuing in the Curtis Auditorium from Saturday.

06/06/2019 – Ready for the seating in Herschel Lecture Theatres

Decoration and flooring has been completed in Lecture Theatres 1, 2 and 3 ready for the new seating to be installed on from Monday 9th September.

The flooring in the Curtis Auditorium will be completed next week with the seating installation commencing on 14th September.

The AV installation will continue in the Curtis Auditroium and the projection booths throughout next week with testing and commissioning taking place the week after.

29/08/2019 – Decoration Nears Completion in Cassie

Decoration, lighting and heating works are nearing completion in the Cassie Building teaching rooms. Once complete, lecture theatre 2.32 will have two fully accessible entrances.

In 2.32, the teaching wall is now on the longest wall allowing dual projection and increased writing surface to be installed.

28/08/19 – AV Installation Commences in Herschel

The AV installation has commenced in Lecture Theatre 1 and the projection booths to the rear of LT1 and the Curtis Auiditorium are being cabled ready to take the new projectors.

Over the weekend new doors were installed to all spaces which will be push-pad operated for ease of access.

Cassie Building Teaching Spaces Refurbishment

Cassie Building rooms 2.32 and 2.33 are currently being refurbished.

Teaching room 2.33 is being decorated and fitted with new AV equipment to bring it up to current standards and Lecture Theatre 2.32 is being reconfigured to provide improved accessibility (including wider doors and a new induction loop) and will be fitted with collaborative ‘turn-and-learn’ style seating which can be viewed here: Cassie 2.32: New Layout

Feedback on the new lecture theatre will be gathered and used to inform upcoming capital projects, in particular the Stephenson Building refurbishment. Details on how to provided feedback will be circulated to all timetabled users in the coming academic year.
