University assessments can take many different forms. As well as the traditional essay, we like to keep things creative at Newcastle. For some of our modules you will create posters, podcasts, even poem cycles and children’s stories as part of your assessments. These are great fun to create and we are really proud of what our students produce.

Here are some examples of our students’ work to showcase their hard work and innovation. All the students involved were asked for their permission to share their work.

SEL1008: The Nature of Language

In this assignment, students present a research paper in linguistics of their choosing…in the format of their choosing!

In this assignment, second year students designed posters for a non-academic audience to educate them about aspects of multilingualism.
