It seems I was (half) wrong when I added the ‘and without Scripts’ part to the title of my earlier post.

It appears that in order to push printers to Windows XP machines you still need add the PushPrinterConnections.exe program as a start-up script.

This is not the case with Vista machines where the push works without it.
