HASS Faculty’s Postgraduate Excellence Scholarships

The scholarships will be open to students who have graduated from a Newcastle University degree in the last three years
Up to 18 £2,000 scholarships are available, awarded as a tuition fee discount.  Students will be eligible to be considered if they:

o   Graduate, or graduated with at least 65% in an undergraduate degree in any discipline from Newcastle University in 2015, 2016 or 2017.

o   Have been offered a place to study a full or part-time postgraduate taught or Master of Literature (MLitt) degree in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences commencing in September 2017. Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip), Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and Master of Architecture (MArch) degrees are not eligible.

o   Are considered to be a UK or EU student for tuition fee purposes. 

o   Have not previously studied at postgraduate level.

·         Recipients may also be eligible for the University’s 20% alumni discount on tuition fees. The alumni discount will be applied to the remainder of the tuition fee after the Excellence Scholarship has been deducted. 

·         Successful applicants may combine their Humanities and Social Science Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship with other sources of University funding, excluding Business Excellence Scholarships and Postgraduate Opportunity Scholarships.
