We are part of the Skeletal Research Group (SRG) at the Biosciences Institute (NUBI) at Newcastle University, a vibrant research group uniting several PI’s who’s research bridges the rare and common skeletal diseases in a holistic approach to understand cartilage development and ageing. The SRG have 3 principal areas of investigation: molecular mechanisms of common skeletal conditions, pathobiology or rare skeletal conditions, and epigenetic modifications in skeletal disease.
The research in our lab focuses on the extracellular matrix abnormalities associated with disease and ageing and on the mechanisms by which the cells sense such changes in musculoskeletal tissues.
