To all those freshers (and others) who signed up to NURL at the freshers fayre and are interested enough that you decided to check out our website, some information on the first training session and match is outlined below:

First Training Session – Monday 4th October

Gateshead Stadium – 19:15 to 21:00 (still leaves you enough time to hit the toon after for some cheap trebles and even cheaper “women”)

There is a 18:30 meet outside the union where a few of the senior lads will accompany you on the short journey to make sure you all get there safe and sound. Make sure and bring some change for the metro. For all those who think you are hard and dont need any help, the details of how to to get to Gateshead Stadium are in the training details section of the website. Boots are not essential as we train on 3G surfaces, however they can be worn.

Friendly Match vs Bradford

A friendly has been organised as an away match to Bradford Uni. This is a great chance to really get a taste of rugby league playing beside some of the senior players, something that you might not get from just a training session. EVERYONE WILL GET GAMETIME regardless of experience or ability. After a bit of rough and tumble we will be getting the coach back to Newcastle for a big night out where you will experience the gritty drunken side of NURL that the current members know and love. NO INITIATION for all of you who may have been concerned about that, just plenty of drinking and a guarantee of plenty of women*.

They are all the details to date. Keep checking emails regularly to see if anything changes. Sithee all next Monday 4th October.

*Women are not guaranteed
