- The Desperate Literature Prize for Short Fiction: the deadline for submissions for this competition is nearly imminent, on 28 February. The entry fee is fairly high, but the potential prizes are attractive. You can view the details here.
- The Custom House has published a call-out for young writers in residence. At this time, they want only a title of the play, synopsis and up to 15-minutes of the play. More information may be found on their website.
- The Brunt Prize for Playwriting has a deadline on 5 June, which will hopefully give interested authors enough time to develop required pieces. You can follow the link here.
- BBC National Short Story Award 2019: the deadline is on 11 March. They are very strict terms and conditions, however, this is one of the popular and prestigious prizes to try, and if you succeed, the awards are great.
