Job Title: Student Learning Analytics Project Support
Location: Newcastle University. Work will take place mostly on campus with the potential for some blended working dependent on the task
Pay Rate: £13.44 per hour per hour including holiday pay

Role Overview/Background:
This casual work opportunity is being offered by the Learning and Teaching Development Service at Newcastle University and is being facilitated by the Jobs on Campus team in the Careers Service.
This role is expected to be for a total of 10 – 20 hours, approximately 2 hours per week between February and May. Working days and times are flexible.
The role is open to Undergraduate Stage 1 Newcastle University students from the School of Psychology, School of Pharmacy, School of Biomedical, Nutritional, and Sport Sciences, School of Maths, Statistics and Physics (MSP), School of Computing, School of Engineering, School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, School of Geography, Politics and Sociology (GPS), Business School, Law School.
The university will soon be implementing a learning analytics solution supplied by Jisc
(https://www.jisc.ac.uk). The purpose of the learning analytics system is to collate meaningful student data from existing university systems for personal tutors to support tutoring conversations, and ensure students receive support when needed. A casual work opportunity is available as part of the Student Learning Analytics Project Team in the Learning Teaching and Development Service (LTDS) based in the Marjorie Robinson Library. The purpose of the role is to create innovative ways of communicating the use and benefits of the system with students.
The output from this role will form the foundation for ongoing communication with the student body regarding the system ensuring co-creation and student voice are embedded in the roll-out; enabling students to understand how the system can be used. Communicating the use and benefits will require consultation with students to determine the best way for them to engage with the system before producing the promotional material. The successful candidate will provide a student perspective and support the Project Team to develop communications approach to Student Learning Analytic System as we move to institution-wide roll out.
Key duties/tasks:
-Support delivery of focus groups
-Facilitation as part of a team
-Assisting with event organisation
-Arrange/host pop-ups to collect feedback from students.
-Market research
-Contribute to the evaluation of materials for student engagement
-Contribute to the design of materials for student engagement by offering a student perspective
-Support with additional tasks as part of the project, as required.
