Marine Summer School Teaching Assistant, Newcastle University

Closing date: 10/04/2024

Duration: The internships are each expected to be for a total of 175 hours, working approximately 35 hours per week between July and August

The Summer School Assistants will support the delivery of three Summer Schools, each a week-long for 9-11 year olds, 11-14 year olds and 15-18 year olds. The role will require teaching, delivery of course content, and planning and development in the weeks between the summer schools.

Research Internship – Developing VR Environments, Newcastle University

Closing date: 07/04/2024

Duration: This internship is expected to be for a total of 60 hours, working approximately 10 hours per week between July and September

Dr Zachary Petzel is seeking a research assistant to help with developing virtual reality experiences in the School of Psychology. Development of these tools will assist in postgraduate research which focuses on factors which influence risky decision making among vulnerable groups (e.g., university students) using behavioural, cardiovascular, and neuroscience methods. 

NU-Farms Summer Internship, Newcastle University

Closing date: 07/04/2024

Duration: This internship is expected to be for a total of 350 hours, working approximately 35 hours per week between July and September.

Bursary/wage: £13.58 per hour including holiday pay

Increased data capture has been recognised as a priority area within our first ‘NU-Farms 5 Year Teaching and Research Strategy’, published in 2022. This summer internship position is available to assist us with this activity, whilst also engaging in other farm activities such as open days. The successful applicant’s work will focus on both arable and livestock/grazing systems.

Software Developer Intern, Luggage-Point

Closing date: 08/04/2024

Duration: This internship will run for 200 hours undertaken flexibly around your course. You will attend business premises as well as work remotely.

We require software upgrades to maintain our service, presence and growth and where necessary a re-write of our service provision that will take us through the next 10 years of development taking into account Windows base platforms are used. Also website upgrade/development is required.

Computer Image Analysis of Marine Microalgae Intern, AkzoNobel

AkzoNobel are a leading marine coatings company that develops innovative solutions for marine fouling control. An intern will support Computer Vision Automated Image Analysis of Marine Microalgae (slime) Assessment. You will work with our R&D department to develop and test a computer vision system that can analyse images of slime and extract relevant features and metrics.
