Welcome to the catalogue of the Newcastle University Fine Art Department.
This catalogue is a celebration of the 55 emerging artists of the 2020 cohort. It is a snapshot of the graduates practice prior to March 17th 2020, with texts from teaching staff encapsulating this unique year.
Thank you for everyone’s contributions to the catalogue! A special thanks to all the teaching staff in Newcastle Fine Art Department for making our time at Newcastle truly memorable, we couldn’t of done it without you.
This catalogue and website work together to encompass the graduates practice during their final year and its development since March 17th. This website demonstrates the artists’ resilience in practice, and desire to create in unusual circumstances. Since March 17th, each graduates practice has adapted to the trying parameters of the COVID-19 pandemic. This development in practice can be found in the artist profiles and ‘Discussion Board’.
