‘Merlyn Bradshaw’s practice uses installation, performance and digital media to question sustained stereotyping and prejudice in the UK. She explores imagery relating to administration and advertising, to investigate the bias and false narratives perpetuated by our government systems. The rigidity applied by our institutions to complex matters of: identity, nationhood and belonging is brought into focus through satire and humour. Within 2020, her work has adapted to become more predominantly digital, reflecting on the increasingly cold and impersonal exchange of information from these systems to the public.’
