A love letter to a Monster Truck, a sext to an Oil Rig
Micaela’s work encompasses text, sculpture and painting to create immersive installations exploring heightened desire and emotions; setting the scene for escapism, glamour and uncertainty. Micaela currently centres her practice around her love for monster trucks, to introduce voluntary and romanticized chaos and an inexplicable craving for more. She uses personification to create a narrative in which she explores not only her relationship with others, but the constant objectification of woman and machine. Through a fine balance of playful and sinister, she reclaims and dissects her own sexuality and gender, questioning vulnerability, sex and material excess.
