Habitual learning about nature, creatures and their environments consistently inspires my practice in order to cultivate a greater sense of ecological understanding. Biological and spiritual communication, memory and objects invested with sentiment are central themes in my work. Unification and an exploration of the common experience of all living things on a cellular level informs an investigation of my own personal identity. A fascination with ritual and the art object motivates my assemblages where I place material together in an intuitive way, fusing disparate elements including sculptures, wobbly ceramics, organic material and found objects, evoking a sense of haptic and spatial. My work often centres around the ceremonial domestic and conjures a squishy sense of mortality.
