Computational MHD Workshop – Leeds

So I spent this week at the University of Leeds for a combined Computational MHD Workshop and Conference in honour of Professor Sam Falle.

I had a great week and enjoyed playing around with the HPC system provided by DiRAC using codes such as MG, Snoopy and PHANTOMSPH. Thanks to all of the organisers, I feel I learned a great deal and also met so many other PhD students who I will no doubt see at other conferences.

In particular it was great to chat with Rob from the University of Leeds whose PhD project is highly related to my own on convective dynamos. I also particularly enjoyed talks given by Dr J. Wurster, Prof S. Tobias and Prof D. Hughes.
