First off I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that I’d
like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
I’ve had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
Hi, the answer is in free writing. If you sit down with a pad and pen, and simply write what you saw on the bus/train yesterday. The people around. Or remember an anecdote from your childhood – what was your first day at school like? Do you remember your birthdays? Spend those ten or fifteen minutes just writing sentences even if it is not a coherent text. Usually, in there you have an idea for a future story. You can search for prompts on the Internet or any creative writing book. I hope this helps.
Congratulations on the launch – looks good and a great way to build links around our MA studies
