Visiting

Newcastle University is in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and easily reachable by train and plane.

Travel expenses for UK Cosmology Meeting: Thanks to the UK Cosmology grant, for UK participants up to £100 of overnight expenses can be covered as well as modest travel costs.

Within Newcastle: The Herschel Building is right next to the Haymarket Metro station (green or yellow line). From Newcastle Central station it’s just 2 stops with the metro or alternatively, about 17min walk. From the airport, it’s about 20min with the Metro. The Herschel Building is highlighted on the simple campus map here. The additional
maps provided by the university (our simple map is adapted from page 2) might also be helpful.

There are plenty of hotels in the city centre and the popular Jesmond area with lots of restaurants and pubs around.
