PhD Topic: Regional Variation in Received Pronunciation
Supervisors: Ghada Khattab & Rory Turnbull

My research crosses phonetics, phonology, morphology, sociolinguistics and sound change but I am particularly interested in variation and change in modern Received Pronunciation. In my PhD I am currently focussing on the interactions between region, social class and education and attempting to understand the non-regional nature of RP.
I also teach on the Linguistics and English Language stage 1 modules SEL1027: Introduction to the structure of language 1 and SEL1032: Language Variation and Change: Dealing with Data.
