PhD Topic: Roles of familiarity, intelligibility and attitude in the processing of accents

My research investigates how we process the speech of native and non-native accents of English and German. More specifically, I aim to examine how our processing is influenced by how well we understand an accent, how familiar we are with it and what attitude we have towards it.
