Environment Awards!

Nominations are open for the Environment Awards 2012 – deadline 11th May

The annual Environment Awards celebrate the contributions that staff and students make to environmental sustainability across the campus.  Whether it’s someone advising us about recycling, reminding us to turn off the light or general championing of green issues; we want to hear from you!  We encourage members of staff to submit nominations for individuals, groups or initiatives, details can be found here (http://forms.ncl.ac.uk/view.php?id=3084). The winners will be presented by the Vice-Chancellor at the Celebrating Success event on 31st May.

ESS Charity Bake-off

Newcastle University Estate Support Service raised a total of 120 quid (with the help of INTO and lots of support from our friends at the Devonshire Building) for charity Guy’s Trust who are raising money to build a schoold in Nepal! Well done all who baked and donated!

The Food Co-op is back!

Initially launched from a garage at the beginning of this year, the Food Co-op has now changed its location to a better, hipper, cleaner and safer one: your Student Union!

The big relaunch takes place tomorrow 12-4 pm.

Come along, meet new people and learn all about ethical eating and food co-ops.

The food co-op is an initiative by the People and Planet Student Society. For more information contact Harley Wright (h.g.j.wright@ncl.ac.uk)
