    1. The last burial at Ballast Hills Burial Ground took place in 1853. Graves within the current green space were not relocated; only their gravestones were taken down in 1929. The project is planning to conduct ground-penetrating survey mapping of the entire green space and beyond to establish site boundaries, especially as the exact boundaries of the burial ground are unknown, as it was used over a long period of time. Some graves were discovered during road work on Ford Street in the late 1970s. The bodies were relocated, but the new location is unknown and is currently being investigated.
